Allergy, Asthma and Eczema
Allergy, Asthma and Eczema
Allergies happen when the immune system reacts to harmless things—like pollen or food—causing itching, swelling, or sneezing, and in the most severe cases life threatening respiratory or cardiovascular problems, known as anaphylaxis.
Asthma makes breathing tough due to chronically inflamed airways, symptoms include coughing or wheezing.
Eczema is a skin condition, causing itchy, dry and red patches.
Allergy, asthma and eczema are often co-occurring.
Dr Arno will guide you through assessments, and help manage these conditions, offering plans for triggers, medications, and lifestyle. If needed, he will refer you to an allergist e.g. for immunotherapy or for oral food challenges. For some allergies like to insect stings, an allergist is always required and should be the first point of contact.
