Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) involves difficulties with focus, impulsivity, and hyperactivity. Children with ADHD might struggle to follow instructions, stay organised, remain focused or manage impulses.

These challenges can cause obstacles to succeed in school, making friends, and to follow general expectations like doing chores and homework. It is a neurodevelopmental condition, not a behavioural choice.

Early support empowers children to thrive at school, home and in their social environment.

Paediatricians can diagnose ADHD accurately and distinguish it from normal variations of behaviour and other diagnoses like learning or other behaviour disorders. 

Dr Arno will discuss management strategies, and if needed refer families to behavioural therapy, and discuss safe medication options.  Dr Arno will guide you and your child along the strategies that you chose and help you to optimise the support that your child needs.
